Atletico Hinckley have been reinstated into the Midland League Cup Final after semi final winners
St Andrews were found to have played a player under a false name, and ejected from the competition.
The infringement was alleged to have taken place in the second leg of the semi final which St Andrews
won 1-4 at Heather St Johns, and after an investigation by the Midland Football League, was proven.
The punishment for St Andrews was to be removed from the competition and Hinckley AFC reinstated to
play in the Final, against Midland Premier Champion club Alvechurch.
League Secretary Nigel Wood said: "The Midland Football League Board took an extremely dim view
of this particular transgression of League Rule and made the decision that St Andrews be removed
from the competition and that Hinckley AFC are reinstated."
The final is scheduled to take place at Walsall's Bescot Stadium on Monday 15th May, with a 7.30pm
kick off. Hinckley AFC are organising a coach for the game and details can be found on the
Official Website. |
