Goals from Justin Nisbett and Luke Richards saw Hinckley through a tricky semi final against
Barlestone St Giles, and put the club into their first Final in their first season.
Nisbett scored as early as the 9th minute after good work between himself and Michael
Healy saw the Hinckley winger slot the ball under Ryan Poole in the Saints goal. This
lead was short lived thanks to some casual defending and 10 minutes later Barlestone
were level after Jack Hartopp was left exposed and the ball was bundled in at the far
post. The game got mired in midfield for the remainder of the half as neither team got
a grip on the game, but an excellent move from Nisbett just before half time, saw him
one-two with JJ Melligan, out pace his marker and cross low to Luke Richards who blasted
into the net from 8 yards out.
The second half was much of a non event with neither side creating any worthy chances,
which was enough for Atletico to go through to the Final of the Leicestershire Senior Cup,
which will be played at Holmes Park, and will be against either Bardon Hill or Melton
Mowbray.
