The Atletico defence faced up to a tough Tamworth attack as AFC played their first home
game in this friendly with the Conf North club. Tamworth eventually won 0-2, with goals in each half for Shane Clarke and Sam Brookes, but it was a major test for Hinckley's defence facing up to players four levels above in the non league pyramid. The gulf between the two clubs was apparent from the start, though Hinckley's team competed well and could've even have taken a first half lead, if not for a linesman's flag. Tamworth's ability told in the end and the final result was a fair balance of the game. A decent crowd of 215 turned out for Hinckley's first home match, with the only bad point from the night being a nasty looking head injury for George Williams. |
