At a public meeting of the community football club Hinckley AFC, those present decided
what colours their new football team would be playing in, and also what style of club
crest would be on the kit.
In keeping with tradition with football clubs from Hinckley, it was voted that the
colours would be Red & Blue, continuing some kind of link with previous clubs, and
a new departure of Violet & White. The spirit of change was too overwhelming for
many and it was voted that Red & Blue would be the Home kit for Hinckley AFC, leaving
the popular, but obviously too daunting to evolve, Violet & White as Away kit. The
vote also took place for designs, and almost everyone in the room chose the classic
retro style plain shirt with diagonal sash, for both home and away.
The club crest was also chosen, with 6 designs incorporating various phoenix designs, a
Hansom Cabriolet, and Simon De Montforts 'Lion Rampant'. With no outright favourite, it was
voted for a design that compiled all the elements into one crest.
